For over 100 years The WI have been campaigning on issues close to members hearts.

Our Public Affairs team keep members informed and educated on WI resolutions and campaigns by organising events to promote them. They also organise events that focus on women and women’s issues, as well as climate change. The team has a monthly column in The Hive so members are always up to speed on how they can get involved with campaigning.

They also have a dedicated Climate Ambassador to support members who feel passionate about environmental matters. Click here to find out more about our Climate Ambassador and her tips on how you can help save the planet.

The team also support local organisations that share the WI ethos.  You can find out more about the WI’s rich history in campaigning here

Suffolk West WIs are avid supporters of My Wish. Our members have help raised much needed funds and have been involved in hands-on projects like stitching lap blankets for dementia patients, quilts for premature babies and syringe driver bags for cancer patients. You can find out how to get involved here.

Tying in with the 2016 WI resolution Avoid food waste, address food poverty, Still Good Food rescue surplus food and redistribute it to the public through their shops in Bury St Edmunds and Great Barton. Last year they helped save over 40 tonnes of food! You can help save food still good to eat by shopping with them.
